LifeGroups

LifeGroups are a place where you –

Connect with others | Grow to be more like Christ

Impact your community with the Gospel

WHAT IS A LIFEGROUP?
A LifeGroup is 3-12 people gathering in a leader’s home as they participate in a unique Bible-Storying format. The goal is to connect with others, grow to be more like Christ, and impact the community with the Gospel as you live the life God has for you.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A LIFEGROUP?
Most of the groups gather together every week and tell a story from God’s Word. The discussion that follows is the heart of LifeGroups. Members are encouraged to apply the events in the Bible to their daily lives. The core of LifeGroup is transformation rather than information. We want our group members to grow in their knowledge of the Bible and learn to imitate the life of Christ daily. LifeGroup includes a time to get to know each other, Bible study, application, and an evangelistic or service focus. Also, as a natural byproduct of all this, the people in the groups experience true community and are a snapshot of what the original Church in Acts looked like. Again, the goal of each group is to encourage and challenge each other to live the life God has for each of us.

IS THERE CHILDCARE?
Each group is responsible for providing their own childcare. Depending on the age of the children, some groups include them in some part of the group time and then separate them in another room. Some other suggestions are parents chipping in together to hire a babysitter either at the place they meet or at a nearby home. Each group can decide how to handle this issue in the most appropriate way for their group.

ARE THERE GROUPS THAT HAVE MARRIED COUPLES AND SINGLES TOGETHER?
Every LifeGroup is unique in it’s composition. Some groups are single gender, some are for couples and some are for anyone and everyone.

WHEN AND WHERE DO LIFEGROUPS MEET?
LifeGroups meet any day of the week, mostly in the evenings.  There are a few that meet throughout the morning/afternoon. While most groups meet in a consistent location (the home of a group member), some groups prefer to take turns meeting in different members’ homes. The group leaders determine when and where they meet. Some meet at church. Most of the groups meet in each other’s homes around the London area.

HOW OFTEN DO LIFEGROUPS MEET?
Most groups meet weekly. Groups take a break over the summer and are re-launched in the fall. This allows families a time to focus on home-life and it makes multiplying groups easy during the fall re-launch.

HOW LONG DOES EACH LIFEGROUP MEETING LAST?
Each LifeGroup picks the length of time they will meet, however most groups meet for an hour and a half. Many dismiss after 90 minutes then continue to fellowship for as long as the group wants to.

HOW DO I JOIN A LIFEGROUP?
There are two ways to join a group. The first and easiest way is to contact a LifeGroup Facilitator directly. If you do not know a facilitator, go to the discipleship wall in the Next Step Area at Corinth. There you can see a brief description of every LifeGroup. If you perfer contact Dan Eubanks at 314-369-5827 and he will put you in touch with a LifeGroup Facilitator.
